The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) is planning audits of hotels, motels and resorts across the United States. The DOL says hospitality is a "high-risk industry" and regulators are looking to prevent violations of federal wage and hour laws. The DOL will begin auditing hotel employers for violations of minimum wage, overtime rules, classification of exempt and non-exempt positions, and requirements for employees with H-2B visas beginning October 1st, 2010.
