• Hospitality & Employment Law Alert Date TBD presented by Nexsen Pruet, LLC
  The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) is planning audits of hotels, motels and resorts across the United States. The DOL says hospitality is a "high-risk industry" and regulators are looking to prevent violations of federal wage and hour laws. The DOL will begin auditing hotel employers for violations of minimum wage, overtime rules, classification of exempt and non-exempt positions, and requirements for employees with H-2B visas beginning October 1st, 2010.
  Cost- $15 per person, includes breakfast

• TEDxMyrtleBeach- "Ideas on the edge of..." presented by MBACC and Powers Court Enterprises on Oct. 21, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
  TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share ideas worth spreading. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
