Qualifications

•Experience with the application of durable medical equipment (DME)/Casting required.

•Knowledge of basic human anatomy and techniques to align fractured bones or position body parts for proper casting; fracture healing and complications required.

•Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Micro Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Nextgen a plus.

•Ability to work with patients care  of all age groups.

•Must have strong medical terminology and anatomy knowledge, general understanding of insurance companies, the ability to handle multiple priorities, exceptional customer service skills, ability to work independently, good judgment and decision making skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Scribes are active and valuable members of their healthcare teams, providing real-time charting for physicians by shadowing them throughout their shifts and performing a variety of helpful tasks. As a scribe, you’ll gain rare clinical experiences that help you grow as a person and as a professional. Common duties include:

·  Recording the patient’s history and chief complaints

·  Transcribing physical exams

·  Recording diagnostic test results

· Preparing plans for follow-up care

Full-time scribes are expected to be available to work between 30-40 hours per week, while part-time scribes are expected to be available to work between 18–30 hours per week. Shifts are generally 8-10 hours long, but this may vary depending upon location.

Each shift, you’ll be assigned a doctor or physician assistant to work alongside. This means you’re in the room during each evaluation, documenting directly from the patient and provider conversation. And that makes you a valuable part of the healthcare revolution and the patient experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Highly motivated and experience-driven

· Pre-health track (pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing) preferred

· At least 18 years old and sophomore status or higher

· Preferred GPA of 2.8+

· No clinical experience required to apply

· Proficient in English; secondary languages required at some locations

REQUIREMENTS:

· Follow and observe a physician for extended periods of time

· Lift approximately 25 pounds

Horry County Schools Adult Education program supports adults in taking the next step in their education: College and Career Transition, WorkKeys Certification, Community Education, Computer Literacy, English Classes, Family Learning Centers, GED, High School Diploma.

Coastal Carolina University is a public liberal arts institution located in Conway, just minutes from Myrtle Beach. The university offers 65 areas of study toward the baccalaureate degree and seven master's degree programs in accountancy, business administration, CCUeducation, marine and wetland studies, and writing. 

Coastal Carolina University (CCU) also provides the best adult education through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI at Coastal) to residents throughout the Grand Strand. More than 300 Lifelong Learning courses, taught by 75 qualified instructors, to more than 1,200 students are offered each term.

Horry Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a comprehensive two-year community/technical college ideally situated on the beautiful South Carolina coast that offers more than 80 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are HGTCeither seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor's degree.
