Nominations Open for 2024 Annual Meeting Awards

Myrtle Beach Area Chamber Seeks Community Nominations for ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ and ‘Champion of Diversity’ Award

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) is pleased to announce that community nominations are now being accepted through March 11, 2024, for two distinguished accolades: Entrepreneur of the Year and Champion of Diversity. For these awards, the chamber is seeking to honor individuals or businesses located within Horry or Georgetown County, and membership is not required.

The Entrepreneur of the Year award commends an individual who exhibits innovation and entrepreneurial spirit in developing processes, products or technologies. The Champion of Diversity award recognizes a business or individual who has demonstrated a sustained commitment to fostering diversity in their workplace and community.

“By inviting community input, we amplify the diverse voices shaping our region’s success, while celebrating those who embody innovation and commitment to inclusivity,” said Karen Riordan, MBACC President and CEO.

Recipients are honored during the Annual Meeting scheduled for April 25, 2024. In addition, seven other awards are presented to chamber members, including Small Business of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year, Hospitality Employee of the Year, Chamber Volunteer of the Year, Ambassador of the Year, Business Innovation Award and Community Service Award.

Riordan added, “Our annual award categories recognize individuals, businesses and organizations that are stellar reflections of the chamber’s mission to promote, protect, and improve civic and economic progress throughout the Grand Strand.”

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.— La Cámara de Comercio del Área de Myrtle Beach (MBACC) se complace en anunciar que se están aceptando nominaciones de la comunidad hasta el 11 de marzo de 2024, para dos distinguidos reconocimientos: “Empresario del Año” y “Campeón de la Diversidad”. Para estos premios, la cámara busca honrar a individuos o negocios ubicados dentro de los condados de Horry o Georgetown, y la membresía no es obligatoria.

El premio “Empresario del Año” elogia a un individuo que demuestra innovación y espíritu emprendedor en el desarrollo de procesos, productos o tecnologías. El premio “Campeón de la Diversidad” reconoce a un negocio o individuo que ha demostrado un compromiso duradero con fomentar la diversidad en su lugar de trabajo y comunidad.

"Al invitar a la participación de la comunidad, amplificamos las diversas voces que dan forma al éxito de nuestra región, al tiempo que celebramos a aquellos que encarnan la innovación y el compromiso con la inclusividad", dijo Karen Riordan, Presidenta y Directora Ejecutiva de MBACC.

Los galardonados serán homenajeados durante la Reunión Anual programada para el 25 de abril de 2024. Además, se entregan nueve premios adicionales a miembros de la cámara: Pequeño Negocio del Año, Organización sin Fines de Lucro del Año, Empleado de Hospitalidad del Año, Voluntario de la Cámara del Año, Embajador del Año, Premio a la Innovación Empresarial, Premio al Servicio a la Comunidad, Premio al Pionero del Año y Premio al Ciudadano del Año.
