Volunteer Opportunity at the Myrtle Beach Classic

Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful (KMBB), a program of Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, will lead the Ecology Volunteer Committee for the 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic.

The following volunteer opportunities are available:

• Sunday, May 5: volunteers will be needed to place approximately 75 trash irons and trash boxes around the golf course. 
• Monday, May 6 – Sunday, May 12: Two shift opportunities. Shifts will run approximately 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1-7 p.m. (Times may differ a little each day, especially early in the week)

Volunteer Responsibilities:

• Volunteers will be removing all trash from hospitality areas, concession stands and other public areas on the golf course. 
• Volunteers will be moving all day and circulating through all areas that have a trash receptacle to gauge the level and if it needs to be removed. 
• Monday and Tuesday are expected to be lighter trash days, with Wednesday to Sunday being heavier days. 
• Prefer if volunteers can work multiple days.
• Volunteers must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.

Volunteer uniforms:

• Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful T-shirts (provided by KMBB)
• Khaki shorts
• Tennis shoes
• Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful hats (provided by KMBB)
• Sunscreen will be provided
• All volunteers will have a home base in the climate-controlled volunteer headquarters tent near the Dunes Club tennis courts. There are restrooms there where volunteers can change if needed.

Breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages will be provided throughout the day.

Volunteers will be given a parking pass for Lot B, a volunteer credential for entry to all days of the tournament and the opportunity to purchase up to four (4) daily grounds tickets at 50% off. Volunteers who work at least 18 hours will receive a discounted round of golf at The Dunes Club on one of the two dates (dates to be determined following the tournament.)
