Send in Your Holiday Discounts

Your Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is continuing its Shop Our Members campaign from Nov. 1-Dec. 16, 2016. All locals, visitors and chamber members are encouraged to keep their money in our community by participating and supporting MBACC businesses during the holiday season.

To help us get the Shop Our Members, Shop Local and Shop Small message out to consumers, we need you to send in your business discounts, and we will:

  • Post a list of holiday specials on this website
  • Hand out a list of business discounts at our chamber welcome centers
  • Promote on TV, radio and in the newspaper

It’s free for MBACC members to participate! Simply complete this online form. Deadline for sending in discounts is Oct. 31, 2016.

You name it, we’ll promote it!

  • Buy one, get one free
  • 1/2 price admission
  • $2 off putt-putt golf
  • Free hamburger
  • 20% off purchase
  • Stay 2 nights, get 3rd night free

Win, Win, Win!

As an added incentive to shop locally, MBACC will be giving away holiday money!

• Shoppers simply stop by any of Myrtle Beach Area Chamber’s three welcome centers, show their receipts from local businesses totaling $150 and they’ll be entered into a drawing for one of five $250 gift cards.

• Shoppers can enter as often as they like with new $150 receipts.

• And as a way to say thanks for shopping in our community, goodie bags full of items from chamber members will be given out along with a list of all discounts. So here’s a great chance to further promote your business! Drop off 40 promotional items (pens, notepads, koozies, lip balm, etc.) by Oct. 21 at the MBACC Main Office, 1200 N. Oak St., Myrtle Beach.

Why Shop Local

  • More jobs: When businesses grow, more jobs open up. The new employees and their families then add their support and spend money in the community.
  • Our shops help people: It is known that local businesses are more likely to support local charities, schools and events. Supporting local shops supports the community.
  • Great products, great prices: Our businesses offer a wide range of products and services at affordable prices. Plus, think
  • about this. The more you shop at a place, the more it grows, which means more products and even lower prices.
  • Save businesses: Wouldn't you dislike it if all the local shops just disappeared? By shopping there you are asking them to stay and grow.
  • Be distinct: Local shops tend to local needs. They know you and create distinctive shopping experiences and stock different products to cater to the community.
  • Preserve the environment: Local shops often stock a high percentage of local goods. That means less gas is used to transfer goods, which also means a cleaner environment. Plus, local foods are better for you!
  • Convenient for everyone: Most people can get to their local shops easily. This is especially important for the young, elderly and anyone without transportation.
  • Bring more to the Grand Strand: Private and public sector services cluster around shops. The more they see economic growth, the more attracted they are to moving their business, here.
