We have two grown and married children and two teenage grandsons.  I Began LGS 38 classes ago and served as program director until I could turn the job over to Anne DeBock after she graduated with the first class.  I have served the Myrtle Beach community in many capacities through the years: Chamber Chair, first chair of the CAB, founder of the Grand Strand Soccer League which morphed into the YMCA program,  first chair of the MB Bike & Pedestrian Committee, current chair of the MB Planning Commission.

I have especially enjoyed watching the success of the LGS program, the success of the graduates and their impacts in our community.  The longevity has amazed me which I largely attribute to the leadership of the graduates who serve the program on the BOR and  the leadership of Directors like Diana.

Class XXXV
I was born in Inglewood, CA to proud alumni of USC (that’s Southern Cal, not South Carolina).  At the tender age of 18 months, my family uprooted me to the Northwest suburbs of Chicago where I was “raised” and attended NIU for a B.A. in Art History.  Since leaving school, I have worked in the airline, insurance, stainless steel and plastic injection molding industries.  Finally, I found a home in the hotel business and moved around the country to Myrtle Beach, Toledo, Birmingham (MI), and back to Myrtle Beach.  I met my husband while living in Myrtle Beach the first time and he persuaded me to move back.  Over the years I have become a “professional volunteer” working with Walk to End Alzheimer’s, MBAHA Events Committee, and together with my husband, Jeffrey, we run several golf tournaments - Shiver for the Shelter supports the Humane Society of NMB and Slimbo’s Swingin’ Swelter supports the Alzheimer’s Association of SC and LGS.  I currently work for FSA-Full Steam Ahead and am a proud member of both the Citizen’s Police Academy – Class 27 and LGS 35.
