Demonstrations Planned Today in Myrtle Beach & Conway

As a reminder, there will be some planned peaceful demonstrations in the Grand Strand area today, including in the City of Myrtle Beach and Conway. Following are the demonstration times and locations:

• In the City of Myrtle Beach, beginning at 10 a.m. at the corner of Mr. Joe White Avenue and Ocean Boulevard. A peaceful demonstration is planned in which those gathered will march over to the Myrtle Beach Police Department on Mr. Joe White Avenue and Oak Street.
• In Conway, a peaceful demonstration is planned at City Hall at Noon.
• Another City of Myrtle Beach peaceful demonstration is planned for 1 p.m. at City Hall.  Update to Posting - 1 p.m. Demonstration at Myrtle Beach City Hall Canceled – The 1 p.m. demonstration at Myrtle Beach City Hall has been canceled by the organizer following a meeting between Julian Betton and city leaders. It is our hope that these demonstrations remain peaceful, but in an abundance of caution please be alert, monitor local media and take steps to secure your businesses and ensure the safety of your employees and customers. We are saddened by the violence and damage that took place this weekend around our state and our country, as we all grieve for the death of George Floyd. The Myrtle Beach area is an amazing, diverse and resilient community of people and businesses who care about and support each other.
