Myrtle Beach was founded as a vacation destination for families and we are going to do everything we can as a chamber to support our city and our law enforcement to ensure we remain one of America’s favorite family beach destinations.
Everyone is excited to hear that the Grand Strand beaches are open, and resorts and hotels are now allowed to take new reservations! While that is great news, opening at this time is going to require people to visit responsibly.
We are working with area leaders to prepare for a safe Memorial Day weekend. Our CVB team is developing messaging reminding guests to visit responsibly.
Just because we are practicing social distancing doesn’t mean we’re allowed to forget about Mother’s Day though, and we bet your mom won’t let you forget!
As businesses across the Grand Strand slowly being to reopen, there remains concern from business leaders about unemployment benefits and how they will affect workforce readiness in the coming weeks.
Landlords should be in communication with their tenants and talking to them about their situation.
To ensure our tourism businesses have clarity on how to reopen safely in the wake of this pandemic, we launched the Accelerate Myrtle Beach Recovery Task Force in collaboration with the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association.
