This is a time of year spent gearing up for the holidays, with promises of fabulous feasts, good company and long-awaited presents. Children are already making their lists ... and checking them twice. However, an important part of the holiday season is charitable giving and the learning experiences that come with it. Help make someone's holidays a little bit brighter this year by supporting the nonprofits below and by visiting the chamber’s nonprofit business directory listing.
The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program helps provide Christmas for hundreds of children in Horry County. Angel Tree gives individuals and partnering corporations an opportunity to “adopt” less fortunate children and provide them with personalized gifts and necessities.
This holiday season, due to COVID-19, The Salvation Army has seen a greater need for services. Due to some retailers still being on restricted hours and some businesses still working from home, we’ve added an online option where you can adopt an angel and shop right from your computer.
There are many children to be adopted in our community. Here are two ways to adopt an angel:
1.) Our paper angels are available for adoption around Horry County (Coastal Grand Mall, Walmart, Starbucks, Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson, WMBF, local businesses, etc.). One may select an angel from the Angel Trees at these locations.
2.) To adopt an angel online visit our website at tsahorry.org and click on the Angel Tree picture. This takes you to our Christmas site where you can choose to adopt an angel. can adopt an angel, shop for the angel online, and have the items shipped directly to the Salvation Army without ever leaving your home.
Note: To purchase gifts online, visit our website at tsahorry.org. Click on the Angel Tree Adopt an Angel icon and you will see the links to the Amazon and Walmart gift registries. Click on either picture and it will take you directly to the registries. Please remember to put the angel number in the comment section at check out. To register for this comfort giveaway, fill out the online application. You can register for yourself or nominate a family in need. Deadline for nominations is 12/18/2020 at 12 p.m. Conway Air Conditioning will review the nominees and announce the winner at 10 a.m. on 12/21/2020
