Myrtle Beach Area Chamber Educational Foundation Empowers Future Leaders with Scholarship Program for Seniors from 14 Local High Schools

Application Deadline: Jan. 17, 2025

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) Educational Foundation announces the opening of the application period for its annual chamber scholarship grants, inviting high school seniors from across the Grand Strand to seize the opportunity to apply for these financial awards by the deadline of Friday, Jan. 17, 2025.

Over the past 17 years, the foundation has awarded $264,825 to educational causes with the majority of funding going toward scholarships for graduating seniors from 14 Myrtle Beach area high schools. Selected students who consistently demonstrate superior achievement inside and outside the classroom receive at least $1,000 each. The exact amount of the scholarship is determined by the Educational Foundation Board of Directors and is paid directly to the recipient to help offset first-year expenses related to higher education.

“Our goal at the chamber is to promote, protect and improve the Grand Strand. That’s why we’re thrilled to award scholarships to students who exhibit qualities that make a real difference, such as being a solid citizen and having a strong work ethic. These scholarships support local students and benefit our region as a whole by growing the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs and community servants,” said Tracy Conner, MBACC Interim President & CEO.

Completed applications should be submitted to school guidance counselors no later than Jan. 17, 2025. Students who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
