The safety and well-being of our visitors and residents is always our priority. We are saddened by the incident that took place on Ocean Boulevard Sunday night. We are grateful for the quick response of the Myrtle Beach Police Department. Public safety is a shared responsibility, and as a community we will not tolerate illegal and unsafe activities.
The chamber is grateful that our community remains a top vacation destination for travelers and we appreciate that people are once again booking beach vacations. However, we also recognize that COVID-19 remains a community health threat and we encourage our residents and visitors to act responsibly as they visit our beaches, restaurants and shops.
We are working with area leaders to prepare for a safe Memorial Day weekend. Our CVB team is developing messaging reminding guests to visit responsibly. This includes practicing social distancing and healthy hygiene to avoid spreading COVID-19, but it also includes cleaning up after themselves and obeying local ordinances.
We have developed this flyer for businesses to display in their storefronts to remind our guests to visit responsibly. We are sharing this directly with our hospitality partners, but we encourage you to print this flyer and post it for public view in your business as well. Also, please report suspicious or illegal behavior, businesses or guests failing to comply with local ordinances, or any other problematic behaviors to the MBPD.
We know times are challenging in our country, but each of us bears a responsibility to help keep our fellow citizens safe, and that includes both adhering to social distancing guidelines and lawful behavior.
Sponsorship provides our investors the opportunity for recognition and publicity. For some events, sponsorship will also include tickets to the event, the opportunity to speak to attendees or to distribute promotional items. Check out the Investment and Sponsorship Program and stretch your marketing budget.
