Santee Cooper Sponsors Winter Wonderland at The Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—The City of Myrtle Beach in partnership with the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) and Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) are pleased to announce Santee Cooper as a bronze-level sponsor of Winter Wonderland at The Beach festival.

Santee Cooper is providing its Green Power for the festival’s light show and Family Fun Zone. Santee Cooper Green Power is Green-e® Energy certified and meets the environmental and consumer protection standards set forth by the nonprofit Center for Resource Solutions.

“We are honored to be a sponsor and provide Santee Cooper Green Power in order to make Winter Wonderland at The Beach a Green Power event. The electricity used will be generated from renewable resources like wind, solar and landfill gas. This helps preserve the environment, reduces demand on our non-renewable natural resources, and increases our energy independence,” said Mike Poston, Chief Customer Officer for Santee Cooper.

“We’re pleased to have Santee Cooper join us as a sponsor and the official Green Power provider for Winter Wonderland at The Beach with its brilliant light show and activities. Their contribution will allow us to provide festival participants with a one-of-a-kind holiday experience all while helping to protect our natural resources that we hold so dear here at the beach,” said MBACC President and CEO Karen Riordan.

Winter Wonderland at The Beach presented by Southwest Airlines runs through Dec. 23, 2022, along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk from Plyler Park to the 2nd Avenue Pier. The holiday lights experience and entertainment at Plyler Park is free to experience while an all-access wristband for the Family Fun Zone is $5 each. The Family Fun Zone is open Thursday through Sunday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and located at 8th Ave. N. Free photos with Santa are available on Saturdays, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 9th Ave. North.
