Winter Wonderland at The Beach Tree Lighting & Art Walk Set for Dec. 1

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—The City of Myrtle Beach in partnership with the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) and Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) are pleased to invite the community to the official Winter Wonderland at The Beach Tree Lighting and Art Walk on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at 6 p.m.

Participants will gather along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk between 8th and 9th Avenues North to join in the countdown and celebrate as the 70-foot-tall Winter Wonderland tree is lit for the first time this season.

Following the tree lighting, participants can take a stroll south down the boardwalk to the 2nd Avenue Pier to view more than 100,000 lights along the beach. The Winter Wonderland holiday lights are on display nightly from 6 to 9 p.m. at no cost to view.

For this special evening only, works of art from local artists will be on display along the way. The Seacoast Artist Guild Art Walk will showcase artworks at the street ends of 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Ave. North.

The Family Fun Zone is open Thursdays through Sunday from 6 – 9 p.m. through Dec. 23rd and offers giant inflatables, curling, artificial snow, roasting s’mores and more. On Dec. 1 only, the Family Fun Zone will be free to experience and on all other nights, wristbands are $5 through the Yodel App. 

A holiday marketplace featuring local vendors and musical entertainment at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. is available at Plyer Park four days a week, Thursday through Sunday, through Dec. 23.

The free Coast RTA Holly Trolley is available to shuttle festivalgoers around Winter Wonderland and downtown Myrtle Beach locations with seven stops. Public parking spaces in Myrtle Beach are currently free as well.
