MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—Leadership Grand Strand (LGS), a program of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, will hold a graduation ceremony on Friday, May 3, 2024, for its 44th program class. During the ceremony, 31 professionals from across the Grand Strand will be awarded the coveted LGS diploma after completing the nine-month program.
The curriculum provided each graduate with broad-based leadership perspectives and first-hand experiences aimed at familiarizing them with the Grand Strand’s resources and service opportunities. The program, which began in August 2023, covered a variety of topics, including professional development, regional history, tourism and economic development, education, law enforcement, human services, government and politics, and the arts.
Each graduate completed 75 community project hours, including specific hours dedicated to Habitat for Humanity of the Grand Strand, youth services, community enhancement and team projects recognizing local citizens for the Ann DeBock Leadership Award.
