Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) Coastal Carolina Sub Chapter of Grand Strand celebrated their commitment to support our soldiers and their families in our community with a ribbon-cutting ceremony June 30.

Founded in 1950, it has 121 chapters worldwide. The chapter serves as the voice for the Army locally by providing relevant programs and support for the in Horry and Georgetown counties.

Membership is not limited to people who served in the Army. Members who did not serve join as “Friend of the Army.” AUSA chapters are made of all volunteers, every person that helps is doing it only out of the kindness of their heart. Even if you can’t volunteer, you can do your part by spreading the word about AUSA to everyone you know, and they’ll be extremely grateful.

AUSA aims to have an active chapter in the Grand Strand that is committed to the supporting the large number of veterans in the area.

They work with several community partners to further their mission. Community partners have helped the AUSA provide scholarships, awards for JROTC and ROTC programs, and support local veterans. At the national level they advocate for better health care, housing, pay and many other issues that support our military and their families. Even though they are an Army nonprofit many of their national efforts benefit all branches of the service and AUSA has members from all branches of the military in its membership.

AUSA of the Grand Strand looks forward to working with our community to support our military and their families.
