Children’s Recovery Center is the child advocacy center for Horry and Georgetown counties, offering hope and healing to children who have been abused.
The Children’s Recovery Center is celebrating Child Abuse Prevention Month during the month of April. According to the Children's Recovery Center, 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday. They encourage learning to recognize signs of potential abuse, and if abuse is suspect to report it to the appropriate agency. Children's Recovery Center does not charge children or their families for services. Its funding comes from the government and donations.
Children's Recovery Center also was awarded the 2021 Community Service Award sponsored by Maguire Law Firm at our Annual Meeting earlier this month.
Each month, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce announces a nonprofit of the month.
