The Horry County Welcome Back Committee launched GreaterGrandStrandisOpen.com and the Greater Grand Strand Promise. The promise is a commitment by area business leaders, residents and visitors, to do their part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 while supporting the economic recovery of our community.
The new website is a resource for businesses, residents and visitors alike. It houses all business reopening guidelines, current coronavirus information and healthy hygiene practices, and tips for supporting local businesses safely. It also includes a webform for individuals and business owners to confirm their commitment to following best practices for safety.
“The website and the associated promise are designed to send the clear message that our community is open for business and ready to welcome visitors back safely to the Grand Strand,” said Karen Riordan, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce president and CEO, and Horry County Welcome Back committee member. “We are asking everyone to take the Greater Grand Strand Promise and do their part to support our business community safely and responsibly to ensure the long-term recovery of our area.”
The Greater Grand Strand Promise is designed to provide clear recognition for the commitment made by businesses, residents and visitors to protect the health, safety and well-being of everyone. The promise includes steps such as wearing a mask, self-screening for signs of illness before reporting to work or visiting a business, maintaining recommended social distancing, frequent cleaning of high-touch areas, and healthy hygiene practices.
Businesses that take the Greater Grand Strand Promise will be provided a window cling and web badge that identifies their commitment to following health and safety guidelines to keep employees and customers safe in their places of business.
