Hurricane Ian Updates

Hurricane Ian made landfall south of Georgetown as a Category 1 hurricane Friday afternoon bringing heavy rain, strong winds and dangerous storm surges.

Horry County has returned to OPCON Level 3, while Georgetown County remains at OPCON Level 2.

Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce continues to work closely with local emergency management officials.

As you return to work and survey any damage, please check in with your chamber to let us know if you will be resuming normal operations or if you have damage.

Closures and Cancellations

Many events across the Grand Strand have been postponed or canceled. We are updating our events calendar, but we encourage you to connect with event organizers through their websites and social channels to check the status of events.

The chamber office is closed and expected to reopen at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Chamber employees will be working remotely Friday.

Myrtle Beach International Airport remains open. Verify flight status with the individual airlines.

Local and state government offices and facilities, including court, are closed Sept. 30.

Blood Drive

The chamber's blood drive with The Blood Connection has moved from the chamber parking lot to The Blood Connection office at 1217 38th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach.

If you are able, please consider making an appointment. There is an urgent need for blood donations for our area as well as communities hit by Hurricane Ian in Florida. All donors will receive a $20 eGift card.
