Join Your MBACC at the Community Chili Challenge

Whether you prefer your chili mild or hot with beans or not, showcase that flavorful recipe at the Myrtle Beach Community Chili Challenge.

Registration is now open for local teams to participate in the third-annual challenge, held on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place in Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce will again have a team participating in the Community Chili Challenge supporting Substitutes for Santa. The chamber’s team has placed in each of the last two years winning first in 2022.

Substitutes for Santa is a charity event produced by the chamber’s group Grand Strand Young Professionals in partnership with SOS Care. It provides a magical Christmas experience to about 150 area school children.

Team participation in the Community Chili Challenge is free with the purchase of ingredients and the top three selected recipes win a cash donation to their charity of choice with $2,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place and $500 to third place.

The Myrtle Beach Community Chili Challenge is part of the Beach ‘n Chili Fest, a three-day cook-off held Sept. 29-Oct. 1, 2023.

Chiliheads from across the world will converge in Myrtle Beach to compete during this World Championship Chili Cook-off event. Attendees and judges will vote for the winner through tasting sessions and people’s choice programs.
