More Than 150 Job Seekers Attend Spring 2021 Job Fair

In a continued effort to assist area businesses fill job openings, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) and the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association (MBAHA) teamed up with Horry Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) to host a job fair on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.

The Spring 2021 Job Fair was held at HGTC’s Conway Campus and welcomed students from 9-11 a.m. and the general public from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

More than 45 employers set up within the campus’ overflow parking lot. From there, they interviewed job seekers for a host of various positions. More than 150 job seekers showed up for the event and some were even hired on the spot.

“Our most recent job fairs have been either virtual or drive through, so this is our first in-person job fair of the year and we’re pleased with today’s turnout,” said Cindy Gettig, MBACC vice president of business development. “Along with a diverse collection of job openings, a wide variety of industries were showcased at the fair from resorts and attractions to HTC, Monarch Roofing, Coastal Carolina National Bank, the City of North Myrtle Beach and others.”

The chamber’s online Job Board also is available to job seekers for free.
