RE/MAX Ocean Forest Named February Leading Business of the Month

RE/MAX Ocean Forest is our February 2020 Leading Business of the Month sponsored by South State Bank. The full-service real estate company is celebrating 25 years in business and as a chamber investor this month.

Established in 1995 by Barry Thigpen Jr., it was the first independent RE/MAX franchise to open in Myrtle Beach. Their 15 real estate agents serve the entire Grand Strand.

Community service is important to RE/MAX Ocean Forest. Since opening their doors more than two decades ago, every agent has made a contribution from each transaction to Children’s Miracle Network resulting in more than $60,000 benefitting McLeod Children’s Hospital in Florence, South Carolina

Thigpen previously served as chairman of the chamber’s board of directors. He also founded and is chairman of the National Shag Dance Championships in 1984.

Becky Swartz, a real estate agent with RE/MAX Ocean Forest, currently serves as a chamber ambassador.
