The Salvation Army of Horry County is our December Nonprofit of the Month sponsored by South Atlantic Bank.
During the award presentation Dec. 6, we also presented them with toys donated at our holiday mixer last week.
The Salvation Army provides emergency assistance to those in need. Financial donations and proceeds from their thrift stores are used to operate their social services. The nonprofit is well-known for their work during the holiday season through the Angel Tree program and red kettle fundraising.
Chamber staff also adopted 20 angels with The Salvation Army Angel Tree program this year.
Each month, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce announces a nonprofit of the month. This special promotion sponsored by South Atlantic Bank recognizes an outstanding nonprofit that is an investor with Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.
