Second Annual Ignite Women’s Conference Presented by Tidelands Health to Take Place on Oct. 31

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) is pleased to announce the date of the highly anticipated Ignite Women’s Conference presented by Tidelands Health. This year’s empowering event will take place on Oct. 31, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

“Building on the success of the inaugural conference, the 2023 Ignite Women’s Conference aims to connect, inspire and support women in our community, championing their growth and success. Through a series of educational programing, the conference provides a unique opportunity for women to connect, learn and ignite their passions. We believe in the power of women supporting women, and this event embodies that spirit,” said Karen Riordan, MBACC President and CEO.

Among the conference speakers, powerful presentations will be made by:

◦ Chris Singleton, former professional athlete who lost his mother during the mass shooting at Emanuel A.M.E Church in Charleston, S.C.

◦ Elizabeth Smart, founder of the Elizabeth Smart Foundation, author and advocate, who was abducted as a child and held captive for nine months before being rescued.

◦ Precious Williams, elevator pitch master and “Shark Tank” veteran who has authored five No. 1 bestselling books about entrepreneurship and business pitching.

Singleton, Smart, Williams and additional presenters will speak about their path to where they are now and their ability to be resilient. Breakout sessions throughout the day will cover a wide range of topics such as career advancement, achieving goals, and health and wellness.

In addition to the main conference, the Ignite Women’s Council will be hosting a workshop titled “Leading from the Middle” on July 13, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Grove at Coastal Grand in Myrtle Beach. Led by Dr. Debbie Conner, assistant clinical professor and coordinator of the M.Ed. in educational leadership at Coastal Carolina University, the session will focus on the importance of leadership in middle management and how to effectively support organizational goals.
