The Yahnis Company named June Leading Business of the Month

The Yahnis Company was named June Leading Business of the Month sponsored by South State Bank.

The Yahnis Company, which has been a chamber investor since 1975, specializes in beer and soft drink distribution. It prides itself on serving counties all over South Carolina including Horry and Georgetown counties. It’s product portfolio includes Miller, Coors, Yuengling, Heineken, Pabst, Corona and Guinness Brewery Brands, as well as several other import, craft, and non-alcoholic brands.

In 1966, the late Christopher Yahnis and Dr. Ira Barth founded Y & B Distributing. Dr. Barth's interest was subsequently purchased, and the company became Chris J. Yahnis Corporation. Yahnis also purchased Stevens Corporation of Myrtle Beach in 1986, which became Chris J. Yahnis Coastal Corporation. Yahnis purchased Shafer Distributing in August of 2000. In December of 1994, Yahnis turned operations of the companies over to his sons, Byron and Jimmy.

Now the business employs more than 200 people and serves markets throughout the Grand Strand and Pee Dee. Yahnis also supplies beer for the Carolina Country Music Fest.
