Visit Myrtle Beach Celebrates National Travel and Tourism Week on May 6

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.– Visit Myrtle Beach, the destination marketing organization of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) and Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), is inviting business leaders and residents of the Grand Strand to attend a National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) Update and Celebration.

The event, which will include breakfast and a presentation, will take place on Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Atlantic Ballroom of the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort and Spa at Grande Dunes, located at 8400 Costa Verde Drive in Myrtle Beach.

This year’s NTTW began on May 2 and continues through May 8. During this week, destinations from across the country participate in various travel industry celebrations. This year’s theme, according to the U.S. Travel Association, is the Power of Travel and how tourism is bringing back communities, restoring the U.S. economy, rebuilding the workforce and reconnecting America.

“As our local businesses know, the power of travel is a driving force behind the entire economy of the United States as well as on the Grand Strand. Here at the chamber, we are committed to this national effort to get people moving again in a safe and healthy way, which will put Americans back to work. This is also a time to celebrate a robust recovery in order to bring back business travel, meetings and other events to our area,” said MBACC and CVB President and CEO Karen Riordan.

Visit Myrtle Beach’s NTTW Update and Celebration will convey new information with the community on how the organization is marketing the Myrtle Beach area, including a sneak peek of its summer campaign. Continental breakfast will be provided, and tables will be socially distanced.

Participants are asked to preregister for the free event by noon on Wednesday, May 5.

Editor’s Note: Media on assignment are encouraged to attend. Present your press credentials at the media check-in table between 8-8:45 a.m., to receive your press badge and press kit materials. The presentation is expected to begin shortly after 9 a.m. with one-on-one interview availability to follow the presentation at approximately 10:30 a.m.
