In an effort to support the many Grand Strand nonprofits on their missions to supporting the community, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is publishing this monthly roundup of our nonprofit members current needs.

Neighbor to Neighbor Volunteer Flyer

Neighbor to Neighbor of South Carolina is seeking volunteer drivers to assist seniors, disabled adults and veterans with transportation to and from medial appointments. Learn more at n2ncarolinas.org.

New Directions of Horry County is seeking donations of wishlist items including fitted food prep gloves in size large or extra large, 9” foam plates, toilet tissue, laundry detergent pods and Pine Sol. You can shop their online wishlist to help.

Saltwater Chamber Orchestra is looking for experienced adult string players, specifically double bass or viola players. Rehearsals are Fridays from 1-3 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church at 805 79th Ave. N in Myrtle Beach. Learn more by calling 843-240-0400.

SOS Care is participating in Palmetto Giving Day, a 36-hour online giving marathon that serves as one of their top fundraising initiatives for the year. They are raising funds to support programs including ABA therapy, Project Lifesaver, independent living skills development, job coach training, Oak Tree Farms and more. You can make donations online May 7-8 at PalmettoGivingDay.org.

SCORE Grand Strand is looking for a replacement TV/monitor for their conference room to replace one that was damaged during the move to their new location. They are looking for a 43” TV, either this Toshiba model or this Samsung model. A used model in good condition would be considered. Contact Ron Opher for more information.

HSNMB WishlistThe Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach is seeking people to foster kittens as well as help purchase supplies for the animals they serve. Top wishlist items include Pedigree dry puppy food, paper towels, 13 gallon kitchen trash bags, silicone snuffle mats, Hill’s I/D Digestive Care cat and dog food.

The Period Project is looking for volunteers to support the nonprofits mission of providing free and accessible menstrual health supplies to local schools, shelters, food pantries and other relief organizations. Volunteers are needed to assist at donation drives and packing parties. Email myrtlebeach@periodproject.org for additional information.
