Description - Coordinate and direct the sales and services activities of the Convention and Visitors Bureau to accomplish the mission.

Essential Functions

Plan, direct and coordinate the sales efforts of the Group Sales team to ensure sales managers meet or exceed the sales goals set.
Plan, develop and implement convention, group sales and service programs for meeting and group planners.
Development of the annual budget.
Develop and maintain working relationships with meeting planners, association executives and tour operators. Represent the area at major industry meetings, trade shows or familiarization tours.

Required Knowledge

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Tourism or related field is desirable.
Minimum of 10 years in CVB administration or hotel sales management.
Extensive knowledge of convention and group sales and the associations that serve those markets.
Ability to direct sales staff.
Ability to supervise and evaluate the work of others.
Ability to think creatively, identify new sales and marketing strategies and attract positive attention to the Myrtle Beach area.
Skilled in developing and delivering clear and comprehensive oral, written and electronic reports/presentation.
Effective at operating effectively in a fast pace.
Flexibility to travel.

Sell by phone, face to face and electronically, the features and amenities of our destination, including the benefits of utilizing the services of the CVB to existing and new association and corporate market group business prospects.
Coordinate and attend appropriate market segment trade and other related shows and events.
Support the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce's mission statement: to promote, protect and improve.
Maintain ongoing knowledge of industry changes and trends through ongoing educational opportunities provided at trade shows and events and webinars.
Maintain ongoing knowledge of local area attractions and meeting and convention hotel properties.
Maintain knowledge of our destination's competition.
Proficiency in SimpleView CRM system, Microsoft Outlook and Word and Excel.
Complete reports accurately and timely as specified by management.
Assist in the development of market strategies, promotions and activities.
Develop ongoing and productive business relationships with sales managers of member businesses involved in the group market.
Assist in meeting planner/tour operator site inspections, familiarization trips and sales blitzes.

Required Knowledge

Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field, minimum of two years of experience in group sales with proven sales skills and results.
Travel flexibility necessary.
Ability to delegate appropriate duties to the CVB assistant sales manager.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
General knowledge of computers and basic office procedures.

The Manager of Maintenance is responsible for the overall maintenance of Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach and Boulevard Attractions - Addressing issues with maintenance staff, housekeeping and grounds staff/contractors and working as a Project Manager. This position will involve developing relationships with outside vendors to ensure that ongoing maintenance of working systems is not ignored as well as constant communication with internal stakeholders in order to maintain a top level facility for guests. This position reports to the director of operations.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:

Follow all safety procedures including wearing protective eye wear and using lock out/tag out guidelines and encouraging coworkers to do the same.

Assist in interviews, hiring, developing, and leading employees as necessary.

Act as project manager or assist management during projects.

Coordinate day to day maintenance operations & schedules, keeping work orders current and keeping crew members busy.

Assist Director of Operations in creating budgets and work within their constraints.

Maintain accurate information both manually and / or computerized regarding upcoming projects, completed projects & in-process projects.

Maintain inventory and maintenance records for all maintenance supplies & equipment.

Schedule Maintenance/Housekeeping employees based on coverage and upcoming projects, taking requests into consideration when possible and covering shifts when needed.

Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly fashion.

Maintain a positive attitude and be a team player.

Perform daily checks of the entire building.

Assist in life support systems rounds as needed.

Follow proper procedures for starting up & shutting down the building as needed.

Immediate attention to damaged items in the public areas.

Lead by example.

Preferred qualifications:

3-5 yrs. experience in Lead Maintenance/ Engineering supervision, preferably in an Attractions/Amusement setting.

Strong supervisory skills, especially with department levels of 15-25 people.

Articulate, organized and well-spoken

Language: Fluent in English

Proficient in MS Office
